Portnov School Transformed My Career in QA and IT

I graduated Portnov in autumn of 2022 and had an absolutely life changing experience. The staff has taught me so many things about Software Testing and made it very digestible for someone like me who did not have any background knowledge in IT. When I finished the QA Express course I started the internal internship and worked really hard to become knowledgeable on all the concepts. I learned everything from the basics of networking, database manipulation, writing automated test scripts using Selenium and JavaScript, as well as the building blocks for web development.

After the internal internship the school helped me a lot with finding a paid internship in a real company, which I successfully got the offer for with all the interview training that the school provided. I worked at that company for a year and recently got a position at a very big and well known IT company, which I will be starting very soon.

I have met a lot of lifelong friends thanks to PCS and it helped me get a start to a career in QA. I am so grateful to the staff and to the people who are regularly there for all their great efforts and I cannot express enough how awesome my experience was !!!!!

I’ve been putting off writing my review of Portnov Computer School for some time now, as I wanted to provide a comprehensive description of my experience with the school, from the moment I enrolled as a student to receiving a full-time position as a QA Engineer with a major US company.
In short, if you have any doubts about whether the school’s course is worth it – absolutely it is.
The course is exceptionally well-structured and covers a big amount of technical knowledge that you can apply as a QA Engineer in almost any company.
Initially, upon starting the classes, the volume of technical information taught can feel overwhelming. However, with time, repetition, and consistency in completing your homework, all the information will begin to settle, and your interest in learning Software Quality Assurance will only grow.
The teachers at the school are truly incredible, each dedicated to providing the best possible assistance and sharing their wealth of knowledge and experience. Moreover, the school provides all necessary elements, such as mock interview help and resume reviews.
I wouldn’t describe it as an easy way—getting through the classes and receiving a job offer will require personal commitment and hard work. However, with such a great support team at the school, success is almost guaranteed.

I completed the boot camp and internship at the end of October 2023 and on Jan 3rd 2024 I started a job as a QA UAT Engineer. I had no experience or any background in IT or anything related to software engineering. The boot camp was challenging, but very well organized, and instructors ensured anyone could understand the concept and learn whatever you’d need to get a job. The internal internship was a game changer in terms of understanding the day-to-day of a QA and gaining real-life experience.
